Research from marketing platform OutMatch has found the best ways recruiters can combat interview bias during the hiring process. According to the firm, there are five distinct types of bias that recruiters need to quell. The first is prejudging.

Prejudging

The study shows that prejudging can happen before a recruiter has even met the candidate in question – with most interviewers making a snap decision about an applicant within the first five minutes.

The research suggests that recruiters “ask questions during the interview to better understand a candidate’s past experiences and behaviours.”
