We created a new category, the Hiring Experience Stack, because we saw the fragmented, transactional reality that causes a poor candidate experience for millions of job seekers every year. Over 1,000 global companies have joined our journey to let the candidate drive their own experience and humanize the hiring process forever.

How we created the Hiring Experience Stack

We composed a layer of assessments, video interviewing and reference checking that helps organizations scale while humanizing the experience.

In 2015, two companies — Chequed.com and Assess Systems — combined to become Outmatch.

In 2017, Outmatch acquired Pomello.

In 2019, Outmatch acquired Wepow and The Devine Group.

In 2020, Outmatch acquired Checkster, FurstPerson and LaunchPad Recruits.

In 2021, Outmatch joined forces with Harver.

Greg Moran President & Chief Executive Officer

Greg Moran has more than 20 years of human capital management, sales, and leadership experience. He is also the author of Building the Talent Edge: A Field Managers Guide to Recruiting the Best (Spring 2005) and Hire, Fire and The Walking Dead (June 2006, W Business Books). Previously, Greg served as Founder and VP of Sales for PeopleAnswers America, a leading provider of behavioral assessment software to mid-market and large companies in North America. Before PeopleAnswers America, he founded and served as President of Pinnacle Technology Solutions, an executive search, staffing, and human capital management services firm. He has also served as Vice President of Best Resume/Career Management Services. During his tenure, he co-authored Job Hunting: The Ten Best Steps to Success, a job search workshop and audio/video tape series. He is a thought leader in the field of human capital management, having been quoted in national publications such as Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, and Inc. Magazine.

Zack Birkelbach Chief Customer Officer

Zack Birkelbach is responsible for leading Outmatch’s Client Success organization with a focus on providing world-class service to each of our clients. In this role, Zack works with clients to understand their business challenges and help create solutions that are going to drive their business goals through building relationships and demonstrating ROI. Zack has 15 years of experience in SaaS organizations and he previously served as Director of Customer Success for Infor leading the Human Capital Management team. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in the behavioral assessment space with PeopleAnswers Inc., helping them to grow from $3 million to over $40 million in recurring revenue by consistently achieving a 95%-plus retention rate driving the acquisition by Infor. Zack has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and earned his master’s in business administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Chris Gardner Chief Technology Officer

Chris Gardner has extensive leadership experience building and directing large software development teams with an emphasis on technology that supports the human resources domain. Prior to joining Outmatch, Chris led a large technology team at Mercer and was responsible for the development and operation of the company’s Health and Welfare Benefits Administration Outsourcing platforms. The platforms provided back-office recordkeeping, vendor data exchange services, and employee web self-service enrollment functionality for millions of employees and their corporate HR administrators. The platforms serviced a broad range of clients, from 50 to 100,000 employees, and generated more than $100 million in annual revenue, while providing clients with the opportunity to reduce benefit administration costs and provide HR with renewed capacity to focus on strategic initiatives. Chris’ experience includes driving new multimillion-dollar technology investments and optimizing existing business and technology processes for quality and efficiency at Mercer, Texas Instruments, and Raytheon.

Jim Trimarco Chief Sales Officer

Jim “JT” Trimarco, Chief Sales Officer, leads the core sales strategy across all market segments. JT brings more than two decades of experience from both Fortune 100 to equity-backed growth technology companies. Most recently, JT served as the CSO of SimplyWell, a corporate wellbeing technology company (acquired by Virgin Pulse) in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, he served in multiple leadership roles at ADP with a specialty in defining and executing go-to-market strategies, building sales teams and developing strategic partnerships. He holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and business administration from the University of New Hampshire.

Imo Udom Chief Strategy and Product Officer

Imo Udom is the Chief Strategy and Product Officer at Outmatch. He is responsible for ensuring Outmatch’s business and product strategy deliver value to customers and supporting Outmatch’s mission to match people with purpose. Prior to Outmatch, Imo co-founded and served as CEO of Wepow, a video interviewing solution that reduces interview time and improves hiring quality. Imo helped grow Wepow from a small side project in 2010 to an enterprise platform supporting hundreds of global brands. Wepow was acquired in 2019 and is now part of the Outmatch Talent Platform.

Prior to Wepow, Imo held a number of posts at Lockheed Martin, including Deputy Lead Systems Engineer and Proposal Manager, where he managed a diverse team and evaluated project success. Imo received his B.S. in electrical engineering and his master’s in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of work, Imo enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community. He is on the board of the Delta San Francisco Peninsula Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality of life in the San Francisco and peninsula areas by supporting programs that foster educational growth and provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships and awards.

Robin Stenzel Chief People Officer

Robin Stenzel joined Outmatch as the Chief Solutions Officer in May of 2019 and is focused on helping support customers, sales and product development. Prior to joining Outmatch, she worked for WestRock, a leader in the paper and packaging industry, in a variety of roles. In her last role, she built and led the talent management function for the organization. She also served in HR leadership for Hitachi Consulting, Delta Air Lines and Macy’s.

Robin earned a bachelor’s of general studies in business, communications and political science from Ohio University and serves on the board of SHRM Atlanta and Wholesome Wave Georgia, as well as being actively involved in the United Way.

Layne Deutscher Chief Legal Officer

Layne Deutscher’s legal and business career extends across national and global SaaS, data analytics, and cloud technologies, from hyper-growth startups to multinational Fortune 500 enterprises. With a comprehensive background in capital markets and M&A transactions, Layne has participated as both General Counsel and a board member in multiple IPOs, as well as private, institutionally backed buy-and-build strategies.

Raised in Chicago, Layne earned a B.S. in accounting and finance from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Layne is also a CPA.

George Ehinger VP of Client Sales

George Ehinger is an accomplished sales and marketing professional with more than 25 years in leadership positions in high-growth companies. During the boom-and-bust cycle of Web 1.0, he served as Senior Vice President of the San Francisco-based cable television channel TechTV, formerly ZDTV. Previously, Ehinger was Vice President of Scholastic Inc., where he led the turnaround efforts of a fledgling magazine, Home Office Computing, into the highly profitable Scholastic SOHO Group. He began his career with MCI Telecommunications. During his eight-year tenure, the company grew from $500 million in sales to more than $5 billion. He is also the founder of Beam Reach Inc., a firm that provides angel investment and business advisory services to early stage companies. Portfolio companies include Revision3, the first TV network exclusively distributed on the internet; Logical Images, an image-based diagnostic tool for the healthcare industry; and Skyworks, a leading game developer for the iPad and iPhone.

Marie Montgomery VP of Finance

Marie Montgomery is responsible for directing all aspects of accounting operations for Outmatch. In this role, she also works with internal teams to understand revenue and cost drivers for financial planning and results management. She also oversees external partnerships with vendors, tax and treasury. Marie has nearly 20 years of experience in financial and business operations roles, holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and serves as Treasurer of Richardson Humane Society.

Sal Apuzzio VP of Global Sales, Enterprise

Sal Apuzzio, Vice President of of Global Sales, Enterprise, leads enterprise sales efforts, driving new business opportunities and solving employers’ biggest talent acquisition problems. Sal is an industry veteran with decades of success in human capital management technology.

Prior to Outmatch, Sal served as a senior sales leader at Saba Software, Mercer Thomsons Online Benefits, Findly, SilkRoad technology, as well as various sales and account management positions at IBM, Informatica, Plumtree Software, Interwoven and Platinum technology. He holds a B.S. degree in business management and industrial relations from Seton Hall University.

Olivia Salas, M.A. VP of Solution Delivery

Olivia Salas leads all client-facing delivery teams, including Talent Solution & Strategy, Client Success, Leadership Services and End User Support. Together, these teams play an instrumental role in the successful delivery, implementation and ongoing support of clients. Olivia has over 15 years of experience in selection and development process design, assessment validation and solution integrations. Olivia earned her B.S. from Texas A&M University and M.A. in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University. She is a member of the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology.

Kelly Ann McGrath VP of Enterprise Client Success

Kelly Ann McGrath is a dynamic talent leader with a passion for building teams within high-growth organizations across multiple industry verticals! She is energized by partnering with our clients to better understand strategic talent initiatives, provide thought leadership, and align and maximize solutions for an overall ROI. Kelly Ann empowers our client success teams to do just that while delivering an excellent customer experience. She was the first official Outmatch employee after the merger of Assess Systems and Chequed as a Senior Client Engagement Manager, later progressing into a more targeted leadership role. Prior to Outmatch, Kelly Ann spent over 10 years specializing in candidate-employee matchmaking through talent acquisition, development and management. She has a B.S. in marketing from West Chester University and a Human Resource Development Certificate through Villanova University.
