About the company
Apotex Inc. is a global pharmaceutical company based in Canada. Founded in 1974 with only two employees, the company has grown to employ more than 10,000 people worldwide in manufacturing, R&D, and commercial operations.
To find top engineering talent, Apotex recruits graduates from colleges and universities around the world. In 2017, they wanted to expand their campus recruiting program, but first, they had to overcome two significant barriers:
1. Hours spent screening candidates prevented the company from growing it’s talent pool, and slowed overall time-to-hire.
2. Recruiters were not aligned with what hiring managers were looking for, which caused added stress and wasted time.
The recruiting team began using Wepow video interviewing for campus recruiting. From the start, Wepow helped streamline screening, reducing turnaround and promoting collaboration with hiring managers. Tasks that once took hours now took minutes, while increasing transparency throughout the process.
Seeing immediate results, including significant time savings, the team rolled out video interviewing across all their high-volume hiring initiatives.
Before Wepow, recruiters would spend 90 hours per position screening and forwarding candidates to hiring managers for review. Today, these activities take only 24 hours per position.
A 73% improvement in efficiency empowers Apotex to engage and retain top talent in a competitive market.
The recruiting team also credits Wepow with helping to improve the relationship between recruiters and hiring managers, which has helped improve quality of hire.
